Position Summary
We are currently in search of a Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Clinician for a permanent full time opportunity with the MHSU Integrated Treatment Team (ITT) in Cranbrook, B.C.

What will you work on?

The Substance Use Clinician functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team and as a member of a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons experiencing substance use problems/disorders or concurrent substance use and mental health problems have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services. The Substance Use Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Substance Use Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.

Scheduling Information:


Shift types are days from 08:30-16:30 hours with weekends and statutory holidays off.

The Integrated Treatment Team offers non-judgemental discreet and flexible substance use treatment and support in the community. This interdisciplinary team provide judgement free, discreet & flexible services including: - Online and in-person counselling - Assessment & support in developing personal treatment goals - Individual and group counselling - Education and self management support - Connection to prescription medications for the treatment of substance use concerns - Peer Support from people with personal experience - Personal wellness optimization. Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:

Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

Two years’ recent related experience in an alcohol and drug treatment environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
