Position Summary
We have a permanent part-time (0.50 FTE) Occupational Therapist opening at the South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, B.C. This position is assigned to our 18 bed acute care unit and works closely with the short-stay rehab, community, and home health teams. This position works Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 08:00-14:30. There is additional opportunity for casual Occupational Therapist shifts in Oliver, and in Penticton.

About the position:
The occupational therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing acute care occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of patients and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The occupational therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.

Qualfications
Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program
Full practicing registration as an Occupational Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Valid BC Driver’s license
