Position Summary
A permanent part-time 0.56fte Occupational Therapist opportunity is available in the long-term care team at the Cottonwood Care Centre in Kelowna. Days of work are Tuesday, Friday, alternate Wednesdays and one in every four Saturdays.

About the position:
This position includes working with clients in the Short Stay multidisciplinary unit. We are looking for someone with skills and experience in dysphagia assessment, standardized and functional assessments, and focused discharge planning.
The occupational therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing inpatient, outpatient, residential and community occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The occupational therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.

Qualfications
Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
Full practicing registration as an Occupational Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists
Valid BC Driver’s license
