Position Summary
Royal Inland Hospital is seeking a Casual Patient Porter to join their team! - if you have graduated from Grade 10, plus two year's recent experience....Apply today!
This position performs a variety of clerical duties such as:
• Assists the surgical team in preparing the OR tables, positioning supplies, and obtaining specific equipment for each case.
• Responds to requests for additional items required during surgical procedures by picking up/delivering items such as equipment, supplies, specimens and blood, to and from various areas of the hospital as directed.
• Assists with lifting and transferring patients to and from beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and/or other devices, as instructed.
• Assists OR nursing staff and Surgeons in positioning patients including holding limbs for procedures including pre-operative and post-operative procedures, as instructed.
• Operates and maintains all equipment in a safe manner at all times. Reports any potential safety concerns to the Manager (or designate).
• Transports patients to and from areas within hospital as required.
• Cleans equipment, such as monitors, microscopes, video carts, anesthetic carts etc. in accordance with established policies/procedures; maintains a log of these cleaning activities
• Cleans and dusts all shelves, cupboards and supply carts on an as needed basis.
• Performs related clerical duties, such as submitting maintenance requisitions
Hours of work: Days, Evenings; 07:00 to 15:20, 08:00 to 16:20, 09:00 to 17:20, 15:00 to 23:20
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week.

• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
