What You'll Work On:
As a Pharmacist I, you will play a crucial role in providing distribution pharmacy services in alignment with our organization’s vision and values. You will interpret medication orders and prescriptions, ensuring their therapeutic suitability, and dispense medications efficiently and accurately. Your responsibilities include compounding and labeling medications, completing dispensing records, and using a computerized medication information system to maintain compliance with legal, professional, and departmental standards.

You will communicate with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members to clarify prescriptions and resolve any issues. Additionally, you will instruct patients on the proper use, administration, storage, and disposal of medications, and inform them about potential side effects. Your role also involves participating in data collection for medication use evaluation projects, implementing dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, and contributing to quality control activities. By participating in internal publications and clinical drug trials, you will ensure that all procedures are in accordance with established standards. Furthermore, you will assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability by referencing primary drug information texts, interpreting laboratory data, and reviewing patient-specific demographics.

Qualfications
• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
