Position Summary
Join the Cariboo Memorial Hospital Pharmacy Team as a casual Pharmacist, where you’ll have the opportunity to work at the forefront of healthcare and advance your career.
Your Role:
In this role, you'll provide essential distribution pharmacy services, including interpreting and assessing medication orders/prescriptions for therapeutic suitability, ensuring medications are efficiently and accurately dispensed or compounded, and maintaining complete dispensing records.
Your responsibilities will include communicating with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members for prescription clarification and problem resolution. You will provide instructions on proper use, administration, storage, and disposal of medications, and inform patients about potential side effects. Additionally, you will participate in medication use evaluation projects, implement dispensary-based medication safety initiatives, contribute to quality control activities, and engage in clinical drug trials. Utilizing a computerized medication information system, you will ensure compliance with legal, professional, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards. You will also assess prescriptions for therapeutic suitability by referencing standardized texts, interpreting laboratory data, and reviewing patient-specific demographics.

Qualfications
• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia; and
• Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
