What Will You Work On?
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will process medication orders that have been clinically reviewed and approved by a Pharmacist. You will receive verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners, ensuring that all prescriptions are complete and authentic. Your duties include preparing, processing, and compounding prescriptions, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions by verifying order entries and performing final checks. You will also process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence, transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies, and enter and ensure the accuracy of drug and personal health information in the pharmacy information system. Maintaining stock levels and performing assigned clerical duties are also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will prepare and process prescriptions by entering orders, counting, measuring, packaging or re-packaging medications, and compounding various sterile pharmaceutical products according to established procedures.

Qualfications
• Grade 12
• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
