Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a reliable and flexible Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Long-term Care team at Cottonwoods Care Centre, Short-stay Unit in beautiful Kelowna, B.C.

About the Job:
The Registered Nurse:
• Provides nursing care to Long-term Care patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a CASUAL OPPORTUNITY. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.
Shift types for this position are days, evenings and nights and shifts times are from 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00, 23:00 to 07:00.
About this location/unit:
Cottonwoods Care Centre is a 213 bed, one-storey building centrally located on Ethel Street in beautiful Kelowna, BC. The original building was completed in 1976, and in 1984 an addition was completed bringing the facility to its current state occupying 156,080 square feet. The Aberdeen Unit has 60 Short Stay beds including 1 respite bed. Bridgeway is our special populations unit comprised of 27 beds - typical clients are younger adults. The Cadder Court and Driftwood Units have 42 beds respectively. The Ethel Glen Unit is a secured dementia unit with 42 beds including one respite bed. The building also houses our Gerontology Centre, where geriatric clients are referred for consultation with an interdisciplinary team including our in-house geriatrician.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
