About the job:
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Senior Power Platform systems analyst oversees, supports, and continuously improves Interior Health’s investment in the Microsoft Power Platform. Reporting to the Manager, Intelligent Automation in the Digital Health group, this role is responsible for managing Power Platform licensing, security, and environments, and support for and approval of citizen development in the Power Platform. The role will be a significant contributor to Interior Health’s overall Power Platform strategy, and provide consultative subject matter expertise on all Power Platform matters at Interior Health.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
• Undertakes complex, integrated business information systems projects from preliminary analysis to post implementation review by:
a) Conducting feasibility studies/needs assessments
b) Gathering detailed information from users
c) Reviewing operational business processes
d) Developing and documenting systems, processes and procedures
e) Detailing software specifications
f) Preparing detailed implementation plans and schedules
g) Estimating resource requirements, costs and resources
h) Leading implementation teams and committees
i) Implementing project plans
j) Managing project resources
k) Monitoring and reporting implementation progress
l) Conducting post implementation reviews
• Acts as a liaison with members of the assigned areas/departments and vendors to trouble shoot problems, research and evaluate alternatives and implement recommendations.
• Configures, tests, supports and maintains complex and/or large-scale applications that are integrated across multiple departments and throughout Interior Health.
• Develops proposals for modification and/or enhancement of vendor applications and liaises with vendors to oversee installation, testing, problem resolution/debugging of program coding.
• As a member of the team, advises junior Business Systems Analysts in the implementation and support of application software.
• Participates in the development of department standards, methods and procedures.
• Designs, develops, implements and evaluates computerized dictionaries, databases and reports using vendor software applications.
• Plans, implements and evaluates educational training programs and provides related training to meet the learning needs of users within the areas/departments with respect to a) education of new users and b) the continuing education of users regarding system upgrades and new technology.
• Provides informational input and expertise during acquisition of products and services and during development of department project plans, project priorities and tactical plans as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science plus three years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
