Position Summary
Joining us in Kamloops, B.C., you’ll have a pivotal role providing social work services to clients attached to the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) cancer clinic. You will provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct psychosocial care, counseling, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management. Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups is an asset.
Days of work: Monday to Friday; 08:30 to 16:30. This is a relief full time opportunity until return of incumbent. Once hired into a relief role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent positions. Qualfications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
- Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Current valid BC driver’s license.
