Position Summary
Joining us at Castlegar Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) you’ll have a pivotal role providing social work services to clients attending in person or online.
This position is eligible for a $14,800 recruitment incentive plus relocation allowance. Earn $42.27 to $52.68 per hour.

About the job:
The Social Worker provides comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides direct psychosocial care, counseling and group work, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self management. The Social Worker is responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population. Days of work are rotating; 08:30 to 16:30. Current schedule is implemented as a 4 on/4 off rotation.
About Castlegar UPPC | The UPCC is located near the Castlegar Emergency Department in the Castlegar and District Community Health Centre. The centre addresses medical needs that require same-day attention for those who do not have a family doctor or are unable to get an appointment with their care provider that day. Depending on the nature of the injury or illness, an individual may be seen by a physician, a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, or another health professional. Social work services can be accessed without a referral.

Qualfications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
- Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
- Current valid driver’s license.
