Position Summary
We have a permanent part-time 0.5fte opening for an Early Childhood Development Speech-Language Pathologist (ECD SLP) in the highly desirable community of Nelson, B.C. Speech-Language Pathology services in this location are offered Monday through Friday. We are open to discussing the preferred work schedule with the successful candidate.

About the position:
The Early Childhood Development SLP works with children aged birth-to-school entry from a variety of cultural backgrounds and their parents/caregivers. The ECD SLP will engage in screening, assessment, intervention, coaching, and education in all areas of speech, language, and communication with this population. The ECD SLP will collaborate with other professionals from the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD), Ministry of Education, as well as local community organizations.
The ECD SLP will have excellent oral and written communication abilities and be able to connect with people from all types of backgrounds. The ECD SLP will be creative in supporting clients’ goals while adhering to program guidelines. The ECD SLP will be an active and engaged team member, able to respectfully communicate and resolve conflict in a timely manner.

Qualfications
Full practicing registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
One year’s recent, related experience in working with clients in Early Childhood Development setting and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid BC Driver’s license
