Your first role:
- Work is performed with some supervision, and in accordance with established objectives and guidelines. Technical guidance is provided by the Team Lead, Senior Information Technology Analysts, or Project Manager.
- The Systems Administrator routinely takes independent actions regarding assigned work. Decisions are typically made within established guidelines. You will act as liaison with field service (external and internal) personnel to identify and resolve system hardware and software problems, and escalate or make recommendations to IT or project management, as appropriate, regarding the completion of assigned projects.
- Provide support to ensure stable, reliable desktop and IT infrastructure systems to MDA user communities and customers.
- Using your excellent problem solving troubleshooting skills, you will resolve issues and ensure systems are functioning satisfactorily to meet commitments and Service Level Agreements.
- Using your superb customer service and communications skills, you will interact with customers, service providers and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- System administration and support of communications room technology, IT infrastructure, and project technology including:
- Linux and Windows servers
- EMC VNX/Unity and CommVault storage arrays
- LAN, MPLS network and network devices
- Telephone systems (PBX and VoIP)
- Data backup/archiving solutions
- Software & Application support
- System administration and support of end user technology including:
- Windows laptops and desktops
- Printers
- Microsoft M365 applications
- Mobile devices with corporate end-point security
- Perform Asset and License Management
- Support employee on-boarding by imaging laptops and desktop and provisioning applications and systems access.
- Provide backup/supplementary support at Ottawa area offices, technology, and projects.
