Department: Human Resource Services

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (35 hours per week / 12 months)

Location: Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board Education Centre

Salary: $75,470 - $87,796 per annum

Start Date: As soon as possible

Main Responsibilities:

Administer the short-term attendance support program for absenteeism due to illness, injury or other personal circumstances by providing information, advice and assistance to staff, supervisors/managers and school administrators that supports regular workplace attendance.

Support supervisors/managers through all stages of the Attendance Support Program by assisting with the analysis of absence data, adherence to procedures related to absenteeism, effective absence counselling, administration and monitoring of employee information related to the Program.

Facilitate and support the implementation of the emergency replacement protocols and work closely and collaboratively with various stakeholders to review possible solutions with respect to unfilled jobs.

Provides confidential administrative support to the Senior Manager, Human Resource Services through the grievance process including maintenance of the confidential grievance and staff relations tracking system, coordination and scheduling of grievance meetings, record keeping of grievance responses and related correspondence.

Provides administrative support in the scheduling and coordination of various Labour Management Committee meetings, and other meetings as assigned, and is primarily responsible for taking accurate meeting minutes.

Maintains the Employee and Labour Relations Team records system, including processing and distribution of incoming and outgoing correspondence and information; hard copy filing for general and union correspondence and related documents; various electronic files for employee reports and correspondence related data; responsible for maintenance and securing of employee disciplinary records.

Assist the Labour Relations team with preparing reports and correspondence for the Ontario College of Teachers and/or Ontario College of Early Child Educators as required.

As may be required from time to time, provides assistance to other Human Resource Services teams as directed by the Senior Manager or designate.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary advanced diploma or degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent education.

Three years of related experience working in a progressive Human Resources environment (public sector environment is preferred).

Human Resources Management Designation (CHRP, or equivalent) is considered an asset.

Specialized Skills Required:

Experience working in a unionized environment.

Experience in the administration and interpretation of collective agreements.

Advanced level skills and experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and HRIS information systems.

Experience with HR information systems considered an asset.

Experience with Apply to Education would be considered an asset.

Ability to work with data, analyze and manipulate data for a variety of applications.

A commitment to service excellence.

Excellent organization and interpersonal skills as well as ability to function as part of a team.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle.
