Khalsa Secondary School is a faith based school located on 10589 124 Street. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith. Teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply! We have just become an IB (MYP candidacy) school starting September 2023 and have been approved for AP Level 2.
We are a growing school with a lot of opportunities! Our teachers are supported, have their own classroom and have a prep in each semester. Currently, we have two Physical and Health Education openings for the new 2023-2024 school year starting August 30, 2023.
We recognize North American teaching experience.

Salary: Starting salary of $58,000/year (over 10 months)
*Only offered to CoQ teachers or teachers who have a completed application with
the Teacher Certification Branch for a CoQ or Subject Restricted Certificate (in the appropriate teaching areas)
**Teaching experience in Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting
salary for CoQ teachers
Qualification Requirements:
Valid Teaching Certification in BC (Teaching certificates in other Canadian provinces and territories are acceptable as long as an application has been completed for a BC Teaching Certificate)
You must be eligible to be employed in Canada.
Special attention will be given to applicants who are certified to or can be certified to teach inBritish Columbia.
Preferrable: Teaching experience within Canada
Ability to work full time
Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty required
Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives including the needs and abilities of students required
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents required
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required
Khalsa School is a Sikh school and a part of the student’s education at our schools
includes education in the Sikh Faith (Sikh music, history, scriptures). However,
these subjects are taught by our religious department and staff. Successful
applicants will only be required to teach the BC Curriculum in English.Teaching experience at our fine institution is recognized by BC public school
