What you will do

As part of its class action management service offering, KPMG is currently conducting mandates in which it acts as Administrator of large-scale class actions.

This role involves managing incoming claims, evaluating claims, as well as managing payments and funds related to the lawsuit.

 

You will be brought to work with a multidisciplinary team offering front-line exposure to the operational details of a complex and multifaceted project.

 

We are looking for undergraduate students or those who have completed their undergraduate studies from several fields, including administration, business, management or equivalent to join the risk management consulting function team as an intern starting January 2025, full-time or part-time.

 

The work involves the following activities:

  • Processing claims received by mail, email, and via a dedicated website.
  • This processing may include:
    • Opening mail, scanning documents, manual data entry into a portal set up and managed by KPMG.
    • Processing claims according to predefined rules.
  • Monitor and sort emails received by the main email box managed by KPMG.
  • You may also be called upon to respond to emails from various groups or individuals.
  • Various tasks related to claims administration, such as organizing documents and files, researching and verifying documentation, etc.
  • Claim evaluation: Using a claim evaluation platform, review and analyze claims and supporting documentation, and contribute to the validation process by applying established processes and criteria.
  • Transmission of complex cases: identify complex claims and transmit them to the appropriate levels for a more in-depth evaluation.
  • Provide high-quality work, within the given deadlines and that meets the requirements of the commitment and KPMG's quality standards.

What you bring to the role

  • Have completed or be in the process of completing undergraduate university studies in a field in administration, commerce, management or equivalent.
  • Advanced level of knowledge in spoken and written French and English.
  • Rigor, attention to detail, sense of judgment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English; experience in writing compelling presentations and reports.
  • A high degree of discretion and a keen sense of confidentiality; you will be brought to work with sensitive personal information.
  • Ease of working in a team and establishing relationships.
  • Proven ability to show initiative and judgment, as well as to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to maintain a sustained work pace to accomplish a number of tasks on a weekly basis.
  • Be able to obtain reliability status following a security check carried out by the Government of Canada. You must have lived the last 5 years in Canada without having spent more than 6 consecutive months abroad. KPMG will assist you in the steps to obtain reliability status, and this is valid for 10 years.
  • Proactivity and sense of initiative: you may be asked to provide your feedback on certain processes put in place and suggest modifications or improvements based on your experience.
