What you will do
- Lead and contribute to the completion of forensic dispute engagements, specifically in damages quantification for commercial disputes at court or arbitration.
- Coordinate the management and execution of fraud, corruption, and other misconduct investigations for internal management and/or litigation purposes.
- Implement investigative plans for sensitive cases and objectively analyze complex financial transactions or related issues.
- Coordinate and manage proactive anti-fraud and anti-corruption projects to provide our clients with a comprehensive view of their operational and regulatory risks, enabling them to reduce their exposure to the risk of fraud and corruption.
- Support leaders in providing client service and carrying out the day-to-day fieldwork on a variety of complex forensic assignments. This includes achieving quality delivery, timely engagement documentation, and management of client deliverables. The candidate will often be responsible for managing several engagements at one time.
- Perform detailed and often complex financial analysis.
- Lead or assist with interviews of individuals who have knowledge of or are allegedly involved in or suspected of fraud, or misconduct, or other irregularities.
- Assist with the preparation of written reports, summarizing our procedures and findings. Assisting in establishing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring timely billing, and collections, as well as other engagement related matters. Support leaders in new client evaluations, engagement acceptance assessment and related risk management practices.
- Supervise junior employees on engagements and/or administrative projects, including on the job training and career development.
- Actively participate in marketing and business development. This include developing your professional network, identify and attend networking events, write articles, prepare and deliver presentations, and perform other activities to raise your profile within the business community.
What you bring to the role
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in a related field (forensic accounting, audit, investigation, damages quantification, insurance claims, vendor/supplier due diligence, contract compliance, and/or business valuations), including at least four years specializing in forensic.
- CPA designation (an asset)
- Forensic specialization with a complementary professional designation such as CBV, CFA, CFE, ACFCS, or CFF (an asset)
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to identify and define issues in a clear and articulate manner, and develop creative solutions to meet client needs.
- Ability to produce concise and structured client presentations and reports.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, managing multiple projects, resources, and budgets appropriately.
