Ledcor is hiring experienced Pipefitters to join our team for the construction of the USG Wheatland Wallboard Plant in Carseland, Alberta.

This project involves assembling and installing a wallboard production line, including product stands, reels, conveyors, a natural gas drying kiln, platforms, stairs/ladders, and stacking/load-out equipment. Additionally, the construction scope includes the installation of ducting for air exchange systems, heat exchangers, and recirculation fans along the drying kiln.

Work Conditions:

  • Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off (10.5-hour shifts)
  • Project End Date: November 2025
  • Location: Carseland, Alberta (parking available on-site)
  • Travel Allowance: Provided for those who qualify (proof of residency required)
  • LOA & Daily Travel Allowance: Available for eligible employees
  • Work Environment: Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, and assembling valves and fittings
  • Perform bolt-up, rigging, and hydro testing to ensure system integrity
  • Assemble and install piping sections according to blueprints and job specifications
  • Work safely in a team environment, collaborating with pipefitters, welders, other crew members and act as a mentor to apprentices
  • Execute physically demanding tasks, such as cutting openings for pipes while standing for extended periods and securing piping in hard-to-reach areas
  • Utilize testing equipment effectively to detect system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors

Qualifications:

  • Certified Journeyperson or Registered Apprentice with industrial experience
  • Physically fit (able to lift 50 lbs., bend, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs regularly)
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License & reliable transportation (due to project location)
  • Additional certifications are an asset:
    • ESC Fall Protection
    • ESC Elevated Work Platform
    • Basic Rigging
