You will be responsible for executing the project quality plan by working collaboratively to perform inspections and initiate non-conformance processes for an exciting GO Transit project.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality records are accurately completed
  • Implements, coordinates and maintains Ledcor systems and procedures in accordance with project specifications
  • Performs general administrative and record keeping functions to ensure project specific quality management information is readily available including the completion of required quality documentation
  • Initiates non-conformance processes when materials or products do not meet the required specifications
  • Develops inspection test plans to meet project requirements
  • Reviews contract documents, participates in the development of the project quality plan and advises the Quality Manager of any necessary changes or revisions to the quality plan
  • Participates in the change management process of changes to the work by carrying out troubleshooting and debriefing with department processes to continually improve upon the products, service and support provided
  • Oversees quality submittals and reporting

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of civil construction experience as Quality Coordinator is required
  • Project experience working on rail transit, highways, bridges, roads, or other infrastructure projects
  • Experience working on large scale infrastructure project for a General Contractor in Canada
  • Completion of post-secondary education in civil engineering or a related field is required
  • Interprets drawings for earthworks, concrete and rebar
  • Understanding of compaction for various soils and effect of moisture content
  • Thorough understanding of proctor testing, sieve analysis and concrete mix designs
  • Interprets reinforcing drawings and compare to in-place rebar installations
  • Performs concrete pre-pour inspections based on design drawings
  • Detailed technical knowledge of codes and standards, regulatory requirements, modern construction practices, techniques and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Design-Build or Collaborative Contract models is an asset
  • Demonstrated exposure to project controls, progress tracking and reporting is essential
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Word and Excel, in addition Heavy Bid and Primavera would be preferred
  • Effective communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form

Working Conditions:

  • Site & Office based position. You will be required to work out of the downtown Toronto head office from Monday to Friday until project is in construction phase, mid-2025. Once on site, you will be required to work full-time on site in the Durham Region.
  • Occasional travel to downtown Toronto office will be required for the duration of the project
