Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Traffic Control Personnel on-site, whilst reporting to the Traffic Superintendent
  • Implement and maintain the project's Transportation Management Plan and Traffic Accommodation Plans & Strategies
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and removal of signage, delineation, traffic realignment, and pavement markings
  • Ensure all traffic control activities comply with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and Ledcor’s policies & procedures
  • Develop daily work schedules, assigning resources (labour, equipment, and subcontractors) while tracking progress
  • Conduct daily site inspections, maintain logs, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Update Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and ensure all team members review and sign off on applicable Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
  • Facilitate daily safety meetings, reinforcing the Ledcor safety culture
  • Assist in onboarding new employees in collaboration with the recruitment team

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in traffic control or roadway construction
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of the Edmonton Manual of Temporary Traffic Control & Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones manual
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement Traffic Accommodation Plans and Strategies
  • Alberta Temporary Traffic Control Train-the-Trainer certification (an asset)
  • Flagger Train-the-Trainer certification (an asset)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and set priorities effectively
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract
  • CSTS-2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications (training provided if needed)

Work Conditions

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (evenings and weekends free)
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions year-round
