Status: Permanent full-time position during the day

Schedule: 40 hours/week to 4 days/week Monday to Thursday
Start date: Immediate (Flexible date)
Location: 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa-Gatineau

Position Summary:

Under the responsibility of the Production Foreman, the Welder will be responsible for welding the steel or stainless steel sheets on our production lines. In addition, he will ensure that all the tasks he performs are carried out in compliance with health and safety rules, laws and regulations as well as company policies.

More specifically, it is called upon to:

  • M.I.G. Welding - Semi-Automatic Welder;
  • Professional training and knowledge of reading plans would be an asset;
  • Ability to weld and assemble on an assembly line (continuous pace);
  • Compliance with health and safety instructions at all times.
  • Maintain the work floor and circulation area in a safe, clean and orderly condition
  • Notify the supervisory team of any production, inventory or quality issues
  • Participate in basic preventative maintenance of equipment, as required
  • Collaborate with the health and safety committee to implement innovative solutions
  • And any other related responsibilities

Desired profile:
The candidate must be able to work physically by welding and following the pace of production, all while following established processes and favoring safe work, cooperation, transparency, rigor and respect.

Requirements and Skills Required:

  • Have an education at a welding trade school or have equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, factory or industrial environment is a strong asset
  • Be able to physically work and lift loads up to 50lbs (23kg)
  • Experience with industrial lifting equipment: Electric hoist, clamps or with the electromagnet, are assets
  • Experience operating a standard forklift in a propane sitting position is an asset
  • Ability to properly use tape measures in the imperial system (comfortable with fractions of an inch, such as halves, quarters, eighths, or sixteenths).
  • Punctual, reliable and professional
  • Good knowledge of either French or English, oral and written (Bilingualism an asset)
  • Ability to work safely at all times and a good sense of humour are essential!
