We are seeking a teacher who:
Works diligently to build a strong rapport with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming learning environment;
Possesses the ability to work collaboratively as part of an instructional team, utilizing flexible groupings;
Is knowledgeable of and has experience in teaching balanced literacy with a sound reading and writing practice;
Is knowledgeable of and has experience in incorporating numeracy skills across the curriculum;
Possesses a deep understanding of current outcomes based assessment practices;
Utilizes a variety of pedagogical approaches based on best practice;
Demonstrates the ability to design innovative, integrated units allowing students to develop and use critical thinking skills and 21st century competencies as outlined in the Ministerial Order for Student Learning;
Effectively integrates fine arts and utilizes technology across the curriculum;
Supports the inclusive education model by demonstrating the ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioral, emotional, and/or cultural needs within the classroom setting;
Is a reflective practitioner who engages in professional learning to grow in areas reflected in the TQS;
Possesses strong organizational and classroom management skills.
The successful candidate must be in possession of, or eligible for, an Alberta Teaching Certificate. This position will commence on January 6, 2025 (may commence earlier) and will end on June 26, 2025. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
