This role is responsible for the leading the designing, planning, development and execution of the marketing programs that contribute to the growth of the Wholesale Club and Affiliated Independents Division of Loblaw Companies Limited. The Director demonstrates the passion required to champion and build our foodservice business as it pertains to seasonal events, brand programs, and customer campaigns created at a national level.

Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the annual marketing plan
  • Development of program specific communication plans
  • Development of dashboards and reports
  • On-going monitoring and reporting of consumer, competitor and brand activity with analysis and recommendations
  • Budget management and reporting
  • Collaboration within marketing team, cross functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless, executional excellence of plans and programs
  • Development and delivery of creative briefs
  • Managing the development and maintenance of social media (i.e. website, local social media, overall social media)
  • Work closely with the external and internal creative teams to ensure execution aligns with overall brand marketing strategies and objectives
  • Oversee and manage project workstreams including project management and follow-ups, purchase orders and budget reconciliation, store communications, legal approvals, flyer programs, store event management and operational execution
  • Proactive improvement of plans, ideas and processes that contribute to the brand’s success
  • Understand and uphold brand guardrails
  • Ensure organization and accessibility of brand documents and assets
  • Develop and issue meeting reports
  • Develop and update status reports
  • Develop post-mortem reports
  • Develop well informed “points of view”
  • Lead and mentor direct report(s) including reviews, clear role and project definition
  • Collaboration and dissemination of the right information to the right teams
  • Contribution to achievement of KPIs (i.e. website, Pardot, social media)

Role Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the foodservice industry
  • University or college degree in business, marketing, or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
  • 6 - 8 years of leadership experience, and relevant work experience in retailing, advertising, marketing, or merchandising environment. Preferably experience in the foodservice environment
  • Experience with digital marketing in the areas of website content and analytics, email marketing, and social media is required
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively source information, obtain approvals and build relationships
  • Creative problem solver with a strong work ethic and ability to work within a team and an autonomously fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Good judgment and experience in the development of creative/communications
