Role Mandate:
This position plays a key role providing financial support to the Food Merchandising Business Unit of the Super Market division and is responsible for leading the development of analysis and modeling that will enable the Center of Store Merchandising team to optimize forecasting, planning, and understanding of their financial results. The successful candidate will contribute to the Finance team’s ability to provide Data Driven Insights to the business and aid with the achievement of financial targets while working closely with Super Market Finance leadership, including the BU and Regional Finance teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage the build and tracking of Sales, Margin and Other Income forecasts and budgets
  • Create weekly and periodic reporting of financial performance and analyze results to identify emerging trends or opportunities
  • Collaborate with category teams, business leads, and finance partners to identify opportunities to improve reporting and forecasting
  • Develop financial models and analyze results to enhance forecast accuracy for business units
  • Consolidate large amounts of complex information into simple and easy to understand reports
  • Perform deep dive analysis and work with business partners to resolve complex financial issues
  • Perform variance analysis on P&L results and provide financial insights to the business leads
  • Ad-hoc reporting and investigation of performance anomalies
  • Liaise with other functional areas within the organization to co-ordinate cross-functional analyses and data accumulation
  • Participate in special projects and tracking of strategic initiatives



Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Finance experience
  • Ideal candidate would have (or be pursuing) an accounting/finance designation
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as MicroStrategy
  • SAP experience preferred
  • SQL/SAS and Teradata experience is an asset
