Position Overview:

This is a full-time, role, based out of our East-Gwillimbury Distribution Centre, and supports the warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and energetic individual, who enjoys the challenges of working in a fast-paced environment with frequent workload changes and competing demands. As the Recruiter, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating transactional HR functions that contribute to the achievement of specific distribution centre and company-wide Human Resources goals. You will be required to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external key partners to ensure the distribution centre delivers a high level of internal customer service to all colleagues through the effective administration of Loblaw’s comprehensive Human Resources Management program including but not limited to: recruitment programs, talent and development initiatives, Labour Relations activities, etc.

Accountabilities:

  • Primarily assists with the recruiting and selection process for new employees including conducting pre-screen telephone interviews, scheduling in person interviews, extending job offers, and providing other administrative functions
  • Work with our operations team to identify labour needs for the warehouse operator position
  • Coordinate new hire paperwork
  • Get in touch with external sources to post openings
  • Conduct regular follow-up with our operations team to determine the effectiveness of recruitment plans and implementation
  • Attend career fairs for recruitment purposes and to promote Loblaw as a Great Place to Work
  • Build and implement campaigns across various social media platforms to attract new applicants
  • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet position requirements
  • Process criminal record check forms for potential new hires
  • Prepare, analyze and maintain various HR reports, measures and statistics (i.e. vacancy reports, headcount report, etc.)
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including filing, photo-copying, preparation of correspondence and data-entry
  • Ad-hoc assignments as required

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency within a fast paced and demanding work environment
  • Intermediate computer systems knowledge (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and other social media
  • Proven customer focus and the ability to develop and nurture positive customer relations
  • Highly organized and has a high degree of attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources and obtained (or working towards) HR Management Certification
  • 1-3 years progressive HR experience, coordinating departmental programs and initiatives is a definite asset
