What You'll Do

  • Prepare and interpret internal rates of return (IRR) analyses for Shoppers Drug Mart acquisition projects and real estate capital initiatives (eg. new, relocation, expansion, medical clinics), by reviewing provided financial data and incorporating it with logical estimates into returns models.
  • Composition of presentations and business cases.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather information and advance acquisition and real estate capital initiatives.
  • Conduct and publish post-investment reviews to validate assumptions, and provide insights to highlight drivers of performance variance.
  • Semi annual database updates/refreshes.
  • Review due diligence reports and communicate as necessary to follow up.
  • Perform ad-hoc research and analysis of relevant industry and company topics to support department objectives.

What You'll Bring

  • Post secondary education or a university degree in business or related field. CPA/CGA/CMA, or CBV designation, or working towards one preferred.
  • Greater than three years of business experience or equivalent.
  • Financial statement literacy with strong financial analysis, including cash flow modelling, problem-solving skills.
  • Research to back assumption and validate data.
  • Proficiency in Excel, particularly nested formulas, data manipulation and macros.
  • Superb time management skills and able to prioritize
  • Resourceful, detail oriented, able to meet the objective of completing projects independently.
  • Courtesy, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with colleagues.
  • Compelling communication, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable with usage of Microstrategy (or similar) or the ability to develop same.
