The Senior Manager, Space Optimization will be accountable for improving promotional space optimization through inventory flow, forecasting, reducing days on hand, and maximizing sales and profit opportunities. The role will be responsible for building space optimization and markdown models to improve sales, margin, and inventory results. The role will be responsible for being a forward thinker in the promotional space on how to continue to implement advanced analytical tools to improve the P&L results. Tasks/Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
- Manage the strategy behind the promotional and space optimization models to ensure that there are consistent data models across the total store to allow for inter department space trade-offs.
- Understand all categories strategies to implement into the space optimization models will deliver against the category initiatives
- Present the floor plan to the merchandising department leads to ensure targets are being met and the floor represents their category strategies
- Create Full year/quarterly/periodic selling floor strategies and communicate to all merchandising teams by utilizing analytics to optimize space
- Review the weekly reporting of the space optimization model to determine any opportunities to be made to the model based on the results.
- Maximize floor selling space by using customer insights through advanced analytics models to select the correct item to allocate to the floor.
- Manage the store level allocation of product for all items selected from the promotional plan to be on the selling floor and work directly with supply chain on ordering the product
Role Requirements:
- 5-7 Years of experience in a similar capacity
- Post-secondary education in a bachelors or master’s degree in a quantitative field like economics/finance/engineering/math
- Strong analytical background
- Experience in managing and developing a team
- Experience in MS Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint or other analytical tools required
- Proficient in SAS, R, SQL or other relevant statistical modeling tools/languages.
- Previous experience in retail operations, merchandise planning, and analytics
- Demonstrated experience on project management
- Exceptional communication skills
- Detail oriented and strong time management skills
