- Provide leadership on food safety issues at the store level, ensuring that store management and employees understand the implications of food safety regulations as well as their impact on, and importance, to the business.
- Monitor the implementation of food safety protocols, procedures and programs such as Good Retail Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Recipe Procedures. Ensure that these are current and in place at the store level.
- Reinforce training & knowledge required of employees to meet the National Food Safety Program standards.
- Identify and report situations which may compromise food safety and follow up to ensure appropriate corrective action is carried out.
- Monitor 3rd party food safety audits and ensure that they are completed in accordance with LCL food safety audit policies.
- Monitor Pest Control Reporting to escalate and facilitate collaborative action plans to support pest issue resolution.
- Follow up food safety audits and/or government inspections (i.e. MAPAQ, Health Unit, CFIA, etc.) by reviewing audit/inspection results with Department or Store Managers, recommending corrective action plans and ensuring that these plans are implemented in accordance with the requirements of the National Food Safety Program. Monitor audit results over time to identify common issues across the business and recommend responses to those issues.
- Stay current on all legislation surrounding food safety issues in Canada, anticipate developments that could or will affect food safety and recommend measures that address such developments.
- Liaise with government inspectors (MAPAQ, CFIA) as appropriate to address and resolve food safety issues as they arise at the banner and store level.
- Provide input on the development of new policies and procedures as required.
- Bilingual (Fluent in both French and English)
- Post-Secondary degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health Inspection or other related disciplines.
- Knowledge of both Canadian and Provincial regulatory requirements for the production and labeling of food products.
- 5 or more years work experience in food safety, quality assurance, or other related areas
- Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to make logical and clear recommendations
- Ability to work independently and adjust schedule to the needs of the role.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
- Ability to travel within QC with occasional out of province travel as required
- Assurer le leadership en matière de sécurité alimentaire au niveau des magasins, en veillant à ce que la direction et les employés des magasins comprennent les implications de la réglementation sur la sécurité alimentaire ainsi que son impact et son importance pour l'entreprise.
- Contrôler la mise en œuvre des protocoles, procédures et programmes de sécurité alimentaire tels que les bonnes pratiques de vente au détail, les procédures opérationnelles normalisées et les procédures de recettes normalisées. S'assurer que ceux-ci sont à jour et en place au niveau des magasins.
- Renforcer la formation et les connaissances requises des employés pour répondre aux normes du programme national de sécurité alimentaire.
- Identifier et signaler les situations susceptibles de compromettre la sécurité alimentaire et effectuer un suivi pour s'assurer que des mesures correctives appropriées sont prises.
- Contrôler les audits de sécurité alimentaire effectués par des tiers et s'assurer qu'ils sont réalisés conformément aux politiques d'audit de sécurité alimentaire de LCL.
- Surveiller les rapports de contrôle la vermine afin de remonter les problèmes et de faciliter l'élaboration des plans d'action collaboratifs pour soutenir la résolution des problèmes liés à la vermine.
- Assurer le suivi des audits de sécurité alimentaire et/ou des inspections gouvernementales (p. ex., MAPAQ, santé publique , ACIA, etc.) en examinant les résultats des audits/inspections avec les directeurs de département ou de magasin, en recommandant des plans d'action correctifs et en veillant à ce que ces plans soient mis en œuvre conformément aux exigences du programme national de sécurité alimentaire. Suivre les résultats des audits au fil du temps afin d’identifier les problèmes communs à l'ensemble de l'entreprise et recommander des solutions à ces problèmes.
- Se tenir au courant de l’ensemble de la législation concernant la sécurité alimentaire au Canada, anticiper les développements qui pourraient ou vont affecter la sécurité alimentaire et recommander des mesures qui tiennent compte de ces évolutions.
- Assurer la liaison avec les inspecteurs gouvernementaux (MAPAQ, ACIA) au besoin pour traiter et résoudre les problèmes de sécurité alimentaire qui surviennent au niveau de la bannière et des magasins.
- Contribuer à l'élaboration de nouvelles politiques et procédures au besoin.
- Bilingue (français et anglais courants)
- Diplôme d'études postsecondaires en sciences des aliments, en microbiologie, en inspection de la santé publique ou dans une autre discipline connexe.
- Connaissance des exigences réglementaires canadiennes et provinciales relatives à la production et à l'étiquetage des produits alimentaires.
- 5 années ou plus d'expérience professionnelle dans le domaine de la sécurité alimentaire, de l'assurance qualité ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Solides compétences analytiques, excellentes aptitudes interpersonnelles et de communication, capacité à formuler des recommandations logiques et claires.
- Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et à adapter son horaire aux besoins du poste.
- Capacité à travailler en collaboration avec les autres membres de l'équipe.
- Capacité de se déplacer au Québec et, à l'occasion, à l'extérieur de la province, au besoin.
