The Senior HR Business Partner, President’s Choice Financial & Services works with leaders and their teams directly to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans and company culture and values. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources at PCF&S, this role maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by providing generalist expertise across the functional areas of HR, including colleague engagement, employee relations, talent management, compliance, organizational design, total rewards, leadership development, etc., to enable business results.

Sr. HR Business Partner

Responsibilities:

  • As a strategic and experienced HRBP, uses good judgment supported by human resource skill and practical experience to own the development and implementation of strategic change initiatives for the client group, including organizational design, operating model, assessment and gap identification, communications and organizational change results.

  • Support a results-driven, high performance business, through delivery and deployment of HR programs and processes and participate in coaching and guiding in functional and cross-functional initiatives (role clarity, performance management, compensation, succession planning, engagement survey, and performance review cycle).

  • Operationalize the talent development strategy with a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and manage programs that grow our talent in order to meet the needs across all functional areas of the business, including areas related to our strategic initiatives in our office and in stores.

  • Operate as a key enabler to the business as it drives engagement and Culture initiatives by counselling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own colleague engagement and the sustainment of culture.

  • Lead and continue to evolve the PCF&S Culture Committee and DE&I initiatives in partnership with key Senior Leadership Team members and culture committee leads.

  • Partner with recruiters and the client to develop proactive strategies to attract key talent, as well as retain and develop strong performing colleagues, ensuring the right people are in the right job for goal setting, current and future business needs

  • Develop, manage and support the implementation of leadership development and management training initiatives to support and enhance organizational performance and alignment.

  • Provide coaching & support management on leadership development, talent and performance management, change and people management issues and communication.

  • Ensure that the interests of colleagues and company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations - i.e., ESA, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Code, and oversee processes and testing related to compliance obligations.

  • Contribute to continuous improvements & best practices to influence human resources strategies.

  • Give to the development and growth of the broader HR team through effective training, mentoring and team building.

  • Serve as a mentor and confidante to leaders around people and organizational issues, leadership development, and act as an advocate for colleagues

  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, HR or related field, preferably with a CHRL or CHRM designation.

  • 7+ years dynamic HR experience with demonstrated knowledge in the area of client relationship management (HR experience within the financial services industry is an asset)

  • Strong leadership ability, relationship development, influencing and persuasion skills.

  • Comfort communicating sophisticated business issues to leaders and executives in a clear and compelling manner and an excellent facilitator of action plans

  • Ability to interpret conceptual business or project objectives and assess impact on HR in order to define and articulate an encouraging future vision / state clearly, without having all the details

  • Demonstrated ability in planning and strategic support to translate complex business initiatives projects with moderate to high degree of impact to the organization into clear, consistent and detailed HR Strategy.

  • A detail oriented, collaborative, proactive and results oriented style with demonstrated success in leading and working on projects and project teams as a great teammate

  • Shown influencing, judgment, decision making and cooperative problem-solving skills.

  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and lead highly critical information.

  • Solid digital literacy including Excel, Word and PowerPoint required

  • Strong analytic skills and ability to problem-solve complex issues

  • Exceptional dedication to customer service with sound sense of urgency
