Manager, Sustainability
The Manager of Sustainability oversees a comprehensive assortment of responsibilities related to reducing environmental impacts and applying sustainability principles within the Joe Fresh brand. This role supports the Director of Sustainability on the execution and delivery of strategic programs and initiatives, in alignment with the Company’s purpose, values, and commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance matters.
Key Functions:
- Manage the Joe Fresh sustainability strategy:
- Responsible for reporting and managing data, and driving cross functional work to ensure tracking and reporting against confirmed targets
- Research apparel industry trends and regulations pertaining sustainability
- Management and facilitation of the HIGG Index: managing relationship and reporting, quarterly reporting back and recommendations to management
- Supports research and to source potential external sustainability organizations to partner with
- Coordination with enterprise Sustainability and Social Impact team - connecting regularly on enterprise priorities, targets and efforts, collecting and reporting back on JF initiatives for annual ESG report, pro-actively meeting with cross functional teams across the enterprise to facilitate larger ambitions
- Working cross functionally with QA/ Store-Ops to lead total brand initiative on product disposition on recycling, material reclamation, donation, and re-commerce
- Working cross functionally with raw materials, sourcing, and design teams to pilot new sustainable materials and processes
- Supporting the coordination and execution of internal and external marketing and communication plans
- Creating and implementing the JF sustainability newsletter to be disseminated to the organization monthly
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in social responsibility, sustainability and / or ESG matters
- Demonstrates understanding of widely used ESG reporting frameworks like HIGG Index, Better Cotton (BCI), SASB, TCFD, CDP and GRI
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing numerous priorities simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to bring together and manage interactions with employees from across the organization with competing objectives
- Excellent problem solver and ability to manage difficult situations with tact and creativity
- Ability to analyze reports and large data sets with precision and efficiency
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized and proactive
- Excellent communications skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools
- Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) systems knowledge an asset
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of product/apparel development and production lifecycle an asset
