Principal: Catholic Elementary School

The London region is one of the fastest growing areas in Canada, and the LDCSB is growing rapidly as well. We are seeking a number of Catholic elementary school principals to join our team. We are one of the largest employers in the region, with more than 4,400 staff working together to educate approximately 27,000 students. We have 44 elementary schools (soon to be 45) and 9 secondary schools.

Qualifications

Ontario School Principal's Certificate - Part 1 completed & Part 2 completed or in progress to be completed by the start date of the appointment.

Part 1 - Religious Education or Equivalent (Minimum Requirement). Specialist (preferred).

Part 1 - Special Education or Special Education for Administrators AQ (preferred).

A Master's Degree (preferred).

Completion of the Called to Lead Program or in-progress (preferred). The LDCSB has revised the expectations for our Catholic Leadership Journey through the Call to Lead and Call to Serve programs to ensure our leaders fully understand the level of expectation and accountability required to be a leader in our board.

Submission of a recent Self Assessment Tool and Commitment to Catholic Education or Aspiring Catholic Leaders, in consultation with your Principal (within 2 years of application)

Priority will be given to individuals that have completed or are in progress of completing qualifications.

Experience

Vice Principal Experience

A minimum of five (5) years recent teaching experience in the elementary panel is required.

Recent experience in Catholic leadership at the school and/or system level.

In accordance with Board Policy (G 2.4), Selection and Appointment of Principals and Vice Principals, qualified applicants are required to provide a resume of qualifications and experience, a cover letter, the Self Assessment Tool and the Commitment to Catholic Education for Aspiring Leaders (found on the board website under Careers) and the names and contact information of two references, one of whom is your immediate supervisor. The Board reserves the right to limit the interviews to those who are deemed ready for promotion.

Salary and Terms

Salary will be in accordance with the terms and conditions for Principals and Vice Principals; Commensurate with experience. Successful candidates must be prepared to accept assignments at schools located throughout the LDCSB.
