Nurse Educator - Emergency Department

The Nurse Educator is responsible for leading the assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and skills to practice. The Educator elevates practice and supports strategic initiatives at Mackenzie Health. This position supports the Emergency department and Corporate Initiatives.

What must you have?

  • Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant and recent Emergency nursing experience.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate.

  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Membership of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
  • Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association, Emergency Speciality.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale Course.
  • Experience in triage training.
  • Emergency Nursing Paediatric Course (ENPC) and/or PALS Provider Certification.
