Job Responsibilities:

Position Overview:
This position performs a variety of accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, statements, records and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting:
  • Manage day-to-day banking activities for all entities
  • Create journal entries, reconcile subledgers, prepare financial statements and monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Process month-end close for all entities, including preparing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and confirming intercompany balances
  • Maintain general ledger and company interface to ensure accounting accuracy and analyze and verify accuracy of financial transactions and account balances
  • Preparation of year-end audit files

Budgeting / Forecasting:
  • Weekly Magna Treasury Forecasting
  • Quarterly entity forecasting, as required
  • Annual entity budgeting including collection of information from functions to complete the departmental budgets and consolidating data and uploading budgets in company systems, including the company interface
  • Maintain SOX documentation and ensure compliance, including:
  • Annual preparation for SOX audits
  • Coordinate with Manager, Internal Controls & Compliance and ensuring that internal controls are taken to meet guidelines or in response to any audits


Other initiatives, including:

  • Completing Magna Tax information packages annually
  • Assisting with CRA and other types of financial audits
  • Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field. CPA/CPA student preferred
  • 2 to 3 years in an accounting role in a manufacturing company preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP and OneStream software preferred
  • Proven ability to adapt, multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines
