This role is integral in supporting Magna to continue its leadership role in sustainable mobility. As a member of the Magna Corporate Sustainability team, you’ll be among a small, agile, and innovative group tasked with real action today for a net-zero future. And this future is soon, as Magna has committed to net-zero by 2050 for its global operations.
Your role will be to help develop a strong narrative for Magna’s sustainability accomplishments and where we need to go. Our decisions need to be founded in science and rooted in people. Through quantitative analysis and cross-function collaboration, you’ll provide robust data to our stakeholders and build a culture of innovation and sustainability within the company. This role is best suited for a dynamic individual who is comfortable with complex datasets and presenting to executive leadership. The ideal candidate is one who can spend the morning researching sustainability focused opportunities and the afternoons engaging with stakeholders across the company to take action.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to collect qualitative and quantitative data for customer reporting requirements (CDP, EcoVadis, SAQ, etc.).
- Support the creation of Magna’s annual sustainability report through desktop research, section drafting and cross functional collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
- Manage ESG rating and ranking (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CSA, etc.) responses, reporting surveys and information requests.
- Support Magna’s preparation for existing and upcoming sustainability reporting regulations and legislation (CSRD, ISSB, The SEC rule, EUDR, etc.). Preparation includes, but is not limited to: data collection, system implementation, stakeholder engagement, report drafting and assurance support.
- Implement internal platforms for data collection, dashboards, and training.
- Develop and execute a communication strategy for Magna's sustainability story.
- 1+ years of experience in Environmental Management, Energy, Sustainability Reporting, or a related field.
- Relevant education in areas such as business, science, law, sustainability, or economics.
- Experience in developing strategies, setting targets, and creating roadmaps for success.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills supported by the ability to collaborate with manufacturing teams and senior leadership.
- Strong technical skills in data-driven solution creation.
- Familiarity with reporting frameworks such as GRI, CDP, UN SDGs, etc., and understanding of SBTi frameworks.

- Applicants must hold a G class license and be willing to engage in overnight travel, which is expected to be approximately 5-10% of the time.
