Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible to manage all financial oversight of plant operations to include: financial planning; performance analysis and reporting; preparation of monthly and annual P & L statements, balance sheets, general ledger and cost accounting activities; capital and operating budget development and statutory reporting for the Division. Provide business analysis to understand manufacturing variance, variable and fixed costs, impacts of productivity improvements and capital investments.
- Oversee all Division financial and accounting functions to include: ERP system; general ledger; accounts payable and receivable sub-ledgers; inventory control; fixed asset sub-ledger; financial planning; budgeting and forecasting; cost accounting, etc.
- Monthly Financial Statement Preparation and variance analysis for division
- Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting schedules for Group office
- Annual Budget and Business Plan Preparation
- Coordination with other divisional managers
- Combine corporate guidelines with division objectives
- Manufacturing Cost Analysis
- Inventory costing and valuation
- Assessment and determination of material, labour, overhead
- Overhead cost model
- Support commercial activities with regards to business and program profitability and new business analysis
- Working Capital Management
- A/R collection
- Tooling and Production Inventory management and control
- A/P management
- Continuous Improvement
- Analysis of continuous improvement ideas
- Obtain and share knowledge of other division ideas
- Proactive sharing of ideas and information
- Sarbanes Oxley and Magna minimum control checklist compliance
- Financial forecasting - short, medium and long term
- Other Areas
- Foreign exchange management and reporting
- Capital spending analysis and support
- Intercompany transactions
- Compliance with local tax regulations, if not managed by Magna / Group
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with all internal customers, Plant leaders and Team Members; maintain positive employee relations
- Follow the principles of the Magna Employee Charter
- Promote and practice “safety first” by immediately addressing any hazards, defective equipment or unsafe conditions within the department
- Support new program launches
- Provide motivation and results-oriented environment
- Conduct performance evaluations of direct reports as specified by company goals
- Ensure Team Members are adequately trained and capable of performing the work required
- Interface with suppliers and financial sources as required
- Ensure inventory levels are maintained, as required
- Prepare reporting systems for other departments’ budgets
- Report on status of departmental projects as required
- Prepare special reports and analyses as requested by the Division GM, or Group personnel
- Provide required support to Sales and Engineering personnel in quotations on new or existing programs
- Ensure all Team Member documentation is maintained
- Handle confidential information on a regular basis
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
- Promote and facilitate Open Door Process and Fair Treatment
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
- IATF16949 awareness and adherence,
- ISO14001 awareness and adherence,
- Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence,
- Enforce company and safety rules, document violations and propose necessary disciplinary actions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- University Degree in Finance or Business Administration and Accounting Designation (CPA) is required.
- Extensive background in financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting
- Minimum of 5+ years progressively more responsible experience in the Accounting/Finance discipline within a manufacturing environment, with supervisory experience
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Mastery in the following professional/technical competencies:
- using analytics to drive insight, relevant business processes, internal control systems, financial modeling and risk management
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This will include presenting financial information to non-financial users.
- Ability to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Exceptional leadership skills in change management, strategic thinking and leading/developing people
- Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint advanced presentations.
- Knowledge of LEAN and Problem Solving tools experience is an asset
- Background with information technology would also be considered a strong asset
