Materials Engineer, SAP

The Materials Engineer will be responsible for working with the materials and logistics team to implement and maintain the warehouse management system from receiving through to shipment. They will optimize material movement through the facility and play a key role in implementing the new SAP system. Additionally, the Materials Engineer will troubleshoot and continuously improve materials operations and systems.

1. Collaborate with the materials and logistics team to implement and maintain the warehouse management system.

2. Optimize material movement through the facility for improved efficiency and cost reduction.

3. Play a key role in the implementation of the new SAP system. Support material and logistics in developing and launching SAP as required.

4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to materials operations and systems.

5. Manage customer, supplier, and inventory management within the materials group. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels by managing vendor shipments and release adherence.

6. Troubleshoot and escalate over and under shipments from suppliers. Utilize system-based reports to identify risks and provide daily status updates, proactively managing potential shortages.

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent field.

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain management, and inventory control.

• Well-developed communication, organizational interpersonal and analytical abilities

• Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use

• Strong analytical/organizational skills
