Are you on the path to earning your CPA designation? Our Accounting and Finance Co-op and Internship Program, available at our Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo offices, provides invaluable hands-on experience and serves as a direct pathway to our CPA Development Program. You'll gain technical expertise, business insight, and leadership skills while collaborating with dedicated accounting professionals in a supportive and nurturing environment. This opportunity is ideal for undergraduate students eager to acquire real-world experience in accounting and finance.

Available Roles for the Summer 2025 Term: Audit and Advisory Services, Financial Reporting, Management Analysis, Corporate Tax, Controls Program, and Finance Transformation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and handle aspects of reporting while understanding monthly and quarterly deliverables.

  • Prepare monthly reports including analysis related to job functions.

  • Meet with leaders to review submissions and highlight possible risks and opportunities while taking initiative to escalate issues impacting reporting functions.

  • Support Month-end production and reporting work, including journal entries, budgets, adjustments, Actuals to Budget analysis, consolidating Reporting packages.

  • Gain proficiency in investigating financial ledgers, statements, and journals using various software tools and Excel.

  • Acquire expertise in accounting practices, including reconciling, and analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts, all while adhering to corporate standards.

  • Lead the continuous improvements of existing reporting processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business or accounting, with a strong interest in accounting and finance and a solid foundation in general business principles.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, along with exceptional mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexible and adaptable, capable of working both independently and as part of a team while exercising sound judgment.

  • Exhibits meticulous attention to detail, effectively prioritizing tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to identify and recommend improvements to streamline existing processes.

  • Supports the development and implementation of new processes.

  • Responds to challenges and opportunities with a positive and productive attitude.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Access and Visual Basic is required for some roles.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
