Description
The GWAM Ops Intern program supports eight business units within the Operations umbrella, located in Toronto, Waterloo, Halifax, and Montreal. The program places successful candidates in the Retirement Operations organization, focusing on transformation through automation, digitization, process improvement, and other strategies to enhance efficiency. It includes a comprehensive training program centered on Customer Experience, Data Analytics, and Continuous Improvement. Additionally, the program offers professional development events to build soft skills, networking opportunities, and mentorship. It fosters a community of interns working in GWAM Operations across various locations, encouraging learning and connection.

Position Responsibilities:
- In retirement we are on transformation journey to continue to deliver service to our customers in the most digital way to make decision easier and lives better.
- We continue to grow our footprint in both the Global retirement space and need growth oriented energetic talent to help maintaining our continuous improvement mentality and service delivery.
- Own tasks as assigned. These can include financial transaction processing, answering calls and following-up on work.
- Building solid relationships with the internal teams and external partners.
- Good understanding of project management methodologies, while delivering on special projects as assigned.
- Ability to work with multiple business owners across Manulife and through exercise of impact and influence, persuade them to pursue quick win recommendations suggested by this team.
- Proven ability to present compelling, fact-based analysis that enables efficient and sound decision-making at the senior management level.
- Ability to leverage analytical tools to diagnose, recommend and resolve significant process issues with an ability to influence senior stakeholders to drive change across the functional area.
Required Qualifications:
- A proactive self-starter with demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Interest and strength in business process improvement; high attention to detail.
- Highly developed planning and organizing skills; can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A proven innovative thinker and problem solver; fast learner, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications like Excel, as well as SharePoint and Visio, and other reporting details are a bonus.
