Description
Manulife’s Global Sustainability team is looking for a Manager, Climate and Sustainability with a strong focus supporting the implementation of climate and sustainability strategies, robust climate reporting, and leveraging analytical skills to drive informed decision-making. Reporting to the Director, Climate Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in executing our Climate Action Plan, while contributing to our broader sustainability commitments. In this role, you will join a wonderful team of diverse sustainability and social impact professionals, working with colleagues across the company.

Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of climate and sustainability strategies, aligning with organizational goals and best practices in environmental sustainability.
Contribute to the development and project management of sustainability initiatives across the organization, including nature and biodiversity efforts, and climate policy engagement.
Advise the business on climate targets, emissions reduction pathways, and carbon accounting methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., community investment) to integrate sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.
Stay informed of emerging climate policies, regulations, standards, and industry trends, providing strategic guidance on climate-related opportunities and challenges.
Manage the development of climate-related disclosure, including disclosure in alignment with IFRS S2.
Manage partnerships with external stakeholders, including NGOs and industry associations.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study (Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainability).
Minimum of five years of experience in a related discipline (inclusive of post graduate experience), with experience in the financial sector is considered a strong asset.
Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and communicate complex environmental and climate-related data to inform strategic initiatives.
Excellent organizational skills and project management abilities, with a track record of managing cross functional projects.
In-depth knowledge of climate policies, frameworks, and best practices, with a focus on integrating climate and nature considerations into business strategy and operations.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks, standards, and rating agencies (i.e., TCFD, TNFD, OSFI, ISSB, CSSB, CDP).
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive change through effective collaboration.

Salary range is expected to be between
$86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
