Description
Reporting to the Head of Asian Market Solutions, the position of Private Lending Officer, Asian Markets will play an integral role in the growth of Manulife Bank’s Asian Markets business. Key deliverables include: Very high level of service to Asian Market advisors and HNW clientele, branch processing administration, support in the delivery of credit, support to Mortgage Specialists, and Private Lending Officer in the Eastern Region.
Position Responsibilities:
Client Service and Support
Consistent adherence to standards in order to execute against the desired HNW client experience
Address queries from HNW clients and collaborate with internal partners to meet needs of our clients
Complete client transactions liaising with operations staff where necessary
Investigate and timely response to advisor/client needs
Works with minimal supervision
Will be a key member of the relationship management team, 90% of interaction will be with end clients who will tend to call this role of their day to day requirements.
Credit and Security
Set up and administer new loan and deposit business, process related financial transactions
Responsible for quality of security file
Promptly escalate and work to remediate any deficiencies
Maintain accurate records to meet reporting as well as compliance and audit requirements
Work closely with Manulife Private Wealth operations and Bank operational staff
Administration and Branch Operations
Identify applicable process / system / product enhancements and recommend suitable solutions
Maintain security of all bank records and correspondence
General office administration
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (verbally and written)
Post secondary education or equivalent industry experience
5+ years experience in Banking including retail, commercial and preferably high net worth
Excellent knowledge of banking operations including systems and controls
Excellent PC skills, including Lotus Notes, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Superior client experience skills with advanced interpersonal & diplomacy skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, ability to make decisions utilizing sound judgment and be accountable
Achievement oriented with strong internal networking skills
Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
Influence and work collaboratively with high net worth team in a sophisticated and demanding business environment

Primary Location
Working Arrangement
Salary range is expected to be between
$56,400.00 CAD - $94,000.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
