Quantitative Analyst Intern/Co-op – Summer 2025

The primary objective of this internship is to assist in reviewing and enhancing our current pricing models. The intern will gain hands-on experience in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and the application of theoretical financial concepts to real-world scenarios. This role aims to provide valuable insights into the practical aspects of financial engineering and model development within our organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Introduction to an Existing Pricing Model: Understand the fundamentals of an existing pricing model used by the company. Review the current documentation, assumptions, and methodologies applied in the model.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather relevant market data and historical information required for the model. Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.

  • Model Review: Perform a thorough review of the current pricing model, identifying potential areas for improvement. Validate the model's accuracy by comparing its outputs with market practice and alternative models. Document any discrepancies and propose adjustments to enhance model precision.

  • Enhancement and Testing: Implement proposed improvements and optimize the model's performance. Conduct rigorous testing to ensure the model's robustness and reliability under various market conditions.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, improvements made, and the impact on the model's accuracy. Update model documentation to reflect changes and ensure ease of understanding for future reference.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Math, Finance, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline.

  • Solid understanding in quantitative finance and contingent claim theory, and be familiar with the pricing of fixed income, interest rate and equity derivative investments.

  • Strong knowledge and programming experience in Python, C/C++, VB/VBA, etc. Object-oriented programming experience is preferred.

  • Sophisticated knowledge and experience in stochastic modeling as well as other numerical techniques, particularly, optimization techniques.
