Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Azure API Management Specialist and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing API solutions using Azure API Management (APIM). Your expertise in APIM Platform & operations, proficiency in working with OpenAPI specifications and Swagger, along with skills in JWT, OAuth 2.0, mTLS, Azure APIM Polices, Postman, certificate/SSL knowledge, a strong understanding of APIOps and DevOps, familiarity in developing APIs in any programming language. Good understanding of Azure cloud networking and routing. Experience with managing Entra ID tenant, Azure Application Gateway and Azure Kubernetes are highly desirable. Additionally, you will actively participate in production support, on-call rotations, and risk management compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement API solutions using Azure API Management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand API Platform and infrastructure requirements.
  • Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of Azure APIM resources.
  • Implement APIOps and DevOps pipelines for seamless API deployment.
  • Support day-to-day APIM Platform operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Implement and manage API policies to JWT and OAuth 2.0 for API security.
  • -mplement client certificates and mutual TLS validation for enhanced API security.
  • Implement JWT validation with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of Azure cloud, Key vaults, NSG, Firewalls, Application gateways.
  • Provide production support, including on-call rotations, to ensure API availability and performance.
  • Proficiency in Postman for API testing and development.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in certificates and SSL for secure API communication.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure APIs align with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Software engineering and programming experience is an advantage .

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing API solutions using Azure API Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of APIM operations, including monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong proficiency in GoLang, C#, Java, Python, and/or Javascript.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Proficiency in JWT and OAuth 2.0 for API security implementation.
  • Experience working with OpenAPI specifications and Swagger for API definition and documentation.
  • Experience in penetration testing and security assessments for API systems.
  • Experience in production support, including on-call rotations.
  • Experience in vulnerability fixing and risk management for APIs.
  • Experience with Postman for API testing and development.
  • Knowledge of certificates and SSL for securing API communication.
  • Knowledge of APIOps and DevOps principles for seamless API deployment.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud networking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
