Description
The Quantitative Analytics team within Financial Risk provides quantitative financial modelling and analytics capability to a variety of stakeholders in Group Risk, Group Finance and Business Units. The team focuses on model, methodology and application development to support liability valuation, risk measurement, insurance product pricing and decision making.
Reporting to the AVP, Quantitative Analytics, the Senior Quantitative Analyst is accountable for the development and implementation of quantitative models to support business growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop sophisticated models to generate economic scenarios for multiple asset classes, enhancing our valuation, pricing, capital, and risk reporting capabilities.
Innovate calibration methodologies and tools for model inputs to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Maintain transparency and facilitate model risk management and audits by meticulously documenting risk models and processes.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the risk modeling function.
Collaborate on ad-hoc projects, providing quantitative expertise to business partners, senior management, and industry working groups.
Stay at the cutting edge of financial modeling by engaging with academic literature and attending workshops and conferences
Required Qualifications:
Master or Ph.D. in Quantitative/Mathematical Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field;
Experience in stochastic modelling with knowledge of financial instruments and risk management principles.
Experience in Python, EXCEL, VBA and SQL, and a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and documentation proficiency.
Ability to forge strong relationships with business areas and cross-functional teams.
Results-driven with a strong focus on accountability.
Collaborative spirit and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Salary range is expected to be between
$71,925.00 CAD - $119,875.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
