Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer in our Identity and Access Management space, who is obsessed with delivering value, is forward-thinking, and excited to see the successful implementation of the products delivered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Monitoring:
    • Provide hands-on SRE leadership and run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a comprehensive view of system health.
  • Infrastructure and Applications:
    • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  • Process Automation and Improvement:
    • Drive transformation by automating existing processes, improving reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
  • System Performance:
    • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, anticipating customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
  • Operational Support:
    • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
  • Metrics and Analysis:
    • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Innovation and Automation:
    • Lead technology currency, drive innovation by introducing automation (server patching, certificate management, compliance, etc.).
  • Sustainable Systems:
    • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts. Set vision for SRE practice, including monitoring, alerts, self-healing, reliability testing, and chaos engineering.
  • Collaboration and Consulting:
    • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
    • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Balance Development and Reliability:
    • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience:

    • 2-5 years of SRE experience working in or leading complex enterprise implementations.
    • 2-5 years of DevOps and Cloud experience.
    • Experience with the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
    • Experience as a Software Developer is an asset.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Knowledge of SRE practices, including shell scripting, GitOps, Jenkins, Terraform.
    • Experience with Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Linux, Docker.
    • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor.
    • Strong Kubernetes and AKS exposure.
    • Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other Software Engineering best practices.
  • Soft Skills:

    • An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working within a rapidly changing startup environment.
    • Eagerness to learn emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact future developments.
    • A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate technical vision and outcomes to engineering leadership.
Nice to Have:
  • In-depth hands-on experience in Azure Automation.
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)/Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Microsoft Azure certification.

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
