Hatchery Student
Location: Hanover, ON
Now is a very exciting time to join the Maple Leaf family. Currently, the Hanover Hatchery has the ability to hatch approximately 900,000 chicks per week. Our work includes everything from receiving eggs from our farms to distributing chicks to many growers across the province.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Working as part of a team, the successful applicant will be part of a work rotation to complete the cleaning and disinfecting of chick boxes, assist with inovo egg transfer process (including cleaning and disinfecting rooms and equipment after work is completed.)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working as part of a team, the successful applicant will be part of a work rotation to complete the cleaning and disinfecting of chick boxes, assist with inovo egg transfer process (including cleaning and disinfecting rooms and equipment after work is completed.)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Washing boxes and sanitation of box room and box washer
- Assisting with Inovo Egg transfer as required
- Transfer sanitation
- Other sanitation duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be available Mondays, Tuesdays 4:00 to approx. 9:00 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays 4:00 to approx. 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to approx. 3:00 p.m.
- Must be able to work additional hours during statutory holidays and summer vacation (start time 6:00 a.m.)
- Must be capable of lifting 30 - 50 lbs. repetitively (overhead lifting required)
- Must be able to work in a wet/humid environment
- Able to work independently
- Starting rate of $20.36/hour and full wage of $21.36/hour(after 6 months)
