Hog Grader - Contract

The Opportunity: Reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor, the Hog Grading Technician will properly and accurately grade each hog as it comes into the plant. This position will also check the carcass for demerits.

• Grade each hog as it enters the plant by:
  • Test block the probe by injecting it into a cube to ensure proper reading
  • Ensure tip of probe is sharp
  • Find the third and fourth rib of the hog and inject the probe between
• Check the herd health by:
  • Inspecting the exterior of the carcass for dark hair roots
  • Inspecting the interior of the carcass for unfit for human consumption kidneys
  • Enter findings into computer database ensuring each hog is entered within the allotted time frame
• Ensure proper grading and inspections are carried out to guarantee proper yields

What Youll Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (ex. General Education Development accreditation)
• Knowledge of computers
• Must work well in a team environment
