Manufacturing Coordinator

The Opportunity: The Manufacturing Coordinator coordinates all production planning for the plant ensuring that the needs of the customers are met, and that plant and equipment is used as efficiently as possible. The Manufacturing Coordinator will work with key departments of the Plant Operations Team.

  • Monitor and maintain efficient levels of finished goods inventory to meet customer orders and maintain accurate records in the corporate computer systems
  • Prepare a weekly production schedule that meets all customer requirements and utilizes equipment and labour in the most efficient manner, ensuring optimum results
  • Prepare employee schedules
  • Prioritize production requirements daily, if needed, to best meet customer demands
  • Communicate with customers regularly to ensure that all customer requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work with Supply Chain to coordinate with the Shipping Department, all shipments direct to customers and to outside storage locations and prepare export documents for all finished goods shipping outside of Canada
  • Manage the Canning inventory counts
  • Supply detailed weekly production estimates (in kgs.) to the Finance Manager
  • Maintain the Downtime Summary data base
  • Back up the Accounts Payable Coordinator in calculating and entering the costs of weekly production into the Manufacturing System.
  • Interface with suppliers for forecasting as required
INVENTORY:
  • Create and manage weekly inventory counts.
  • Required to manage the meat inventory to meet daily production requirements
PURCHASING:
  • Manage inventory receiving for production and maintenance
  • Follow up on open purchase orders as well as any SAP parked or blocked items
  • Work closely with all operation team members to ensure material needs are met.
  • Monitor office supplies.
  • Assist supervisors to manage expenditures against budgets,
PRODUCTION:
  • Maintain production records and reports
  • Schedule production/shipping activities
  • Coordinate with other departments
  • Communicate production progress to management
  • Prepare and maintain various reports
  • Fulfill other administrative or office duties as needed
  • Progression to supervisory positions is possible with experience.
What Youll Bring:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • 3 to 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
  • Self-directed and professional
  • Computer proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving, prioritization and organization skills
