What we are looking for:

As a Registered Practical Nurse you will become an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Health Care Team (IDHCT) responsible for the comprehensive care of patients through the Resource Team. You will practice in an environment where the emphasis is on professional practice and customer satisfaction. Using your clinical expertise, you will, in collaboration with the IDHCT, be responsible for patients within any clinical area of hospital including admitted patients within the Emergency Department. You will also provide support to all Oak Valley Health sites including RCC. In addition, you will utilize your demonstrated clinical leadership skills, well developed analytical, problem solving, delegation and interpersonal skills to assist you in the provision of quality patient care. You will be accountable for the development of comprehensive patient care plans and patient education plans, which reflect your ongoing assessment focusing on the patient's goals. Your excellent clinical leadership skills will assist you in working with the Interdisciplinary Health Care Team in the further development of programs to enhance and support patient care. 

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute medicine nursing experience required.
  • Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
  • Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Experience on the LTC environment preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
  • Critical thinking and prioritization skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem solve with the team.
  • Experience with patient health teaching.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of IPAC practice and following outbreak protocols.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the organization's code of conduct.
  • Advance Physical Assessment Skill is required.
  • Basic computer skills and Point Click Care experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

 

Work Schedule

Candidates will be required to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including days (0730h-1930h) and nights (1930h - 0730h) and weekends. Schedules may change based on operational needs. 

 

Compensation:

BAND CU10: $34.70 - $35.97 per hour
