We are looking for a Wellness Coordinator. Reporting to the Team Lead, Employee Health Services, the Wellness Coordinator provides leadership in research, development, and deployment of the wellness strategy, which includes the employee recognition program as well as the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
The Wellness Coordinator will see to the design of the wellness strategy programs, which are inspired by best practices and trends. The coordinator should remain up to date on organizational realities and needs so that their initiatives are implemented with a focus on continuous improvement. They will work closely with key partners (both internal and external) by consulting and providing continuous support. The proposed strategy will present a variety of initiatives focused on a fulfilling work environment.
The chosen candidate will actively participate in promoting the wellness strategy and the Employee & Family Assistance Program and be required to travel within their area to ensure implementation of the strategy. They must also establish a communication and marketing plan to consult and inform employees about this wellness strategy.
All these duties are performed in collaboration with the human resources team, managers, stakeholders, and agencies that have a role to play in the growth of the company.
The position entails but is not limited to the following:
General:
- Able to establish objectives and to be able to measure them with the help of performance indicators.
- Work in close consultation and collaboration with the managers, the human Resource team, and targeted stakeholders.
- Communicate recognition programs and EFAP to regional managers and employees.
- Do research and make recommendations for better use of practices in workplace wellness and employee recognition.
- Plan, coordinate and broadcast annually using help from the working committee, the various events surrounding employee recognition.
- Initiate, develop and coordinate pilot projects for employee wellness in the diverse regions of Medavie Health Services.
- Develop and establish an employee network relating to the well-being and recognition of employees through working committees, employee focus groups, ect.
- Stay on the lookout for new trends.
- Act as an ambassador and resource person for well-being and publicize the initiative among their peers.
- Travel to other facilities within the area.
- Take part in activities and develop projects related to wellness.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with external agencies and organizations committed to encouraging employee health and wellness.
As the ideal candidate for this position, you:
Education & Experience:
- Possess a post-secondary education with relevant education in Human Resources, business administration, health care or related field or a combination of training and experiences deemed equivalent.
- Have a minimum of three to five years' experience in the health care field.
- Practical experience in the development and deployment of strategies and initiatives within large organizations.
- Knowledge of wellness and promotional concepts.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation is an asset.
