Hours of Assignment: 7 hours/day

Assignment End Date: June 26, 2025
St. Mary’s School is seeking a dedicated Resource and Resiliency Worker to support students through The HUB, our Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention program. This space is student-centered using cognitive-behavioral approaches to help students develop problem-solving skills, self regulation skills, teach restorative practice, and have the ability to be successful in a regular stream classroom setting with additional support and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Building positive relationships with staff and students within the building.
Work as a team member with appropriate school personnel and outside services to assist students to overcome difficulties and develop to their own potential.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and the school mental health team to best support student needs.
Support staff and students in developing and maintaining Safety and Regulation Support Plans (SRSP)
Support students during in-school suspensions to build resilience and relationships
Work with staff to implement plans to defuse high arousal situations
The ability to manage a caseload and maintain documentation of student social/emotional struggles and identify triggers and patterns.
Use in-the-moment social coaching, observation, and mentoring.
Guide students through reflective and restorative practices.
Facilitate mediation or restorative conversations between students, peers, and teachers.
Collaborate with home and school to meet the needs of students.
Facilitate social skill development either one on one or in small groups.
Support positive student behaviour by setting clear expectations and consistently following through with appropriate interventions.
Support basic student needs (nutrition, hygiene, organization, emotional regulation).
Qualifications:
Background in education, social work Child and Youth care counselling diploma
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong time management skills
Crisis Intervention skills
Knowledge or Experience in mental health disorders, restorative practices, or Tier 2 interventions is an asset
